Doll Stuffed Bean Bag Chair!

Are you tired of dolls ALL over your house?
I had to post this cute idea for those of you who haven't seen it!!!
This is one of the BEST ideas I've gotten off of Pinterest.
Everyone with kids who love stuffed animals should see this!
Bed Bath and Beyond has bean bag covers that cost between 10 and 15 dollars with 20% coupon.
Just stuff it with all your children's dolls and there you have it!

I got a LARGE bean bag chair because we have so many dolls!
The cool thing is my kids have been wanting a bean bag chair and I have been wanting a place to keep all of their dolls that they can't part with!!!!

First Day of School- Teacher's Present

I have been thinking about something "apple" that a teacher would actually like getting as a gift! Then I remembered Bath & Body Works has apple scents!
I was happy to find a new apple fragrance when I was looking around called Kitchen Apple and Fresh Mint! It smells really good!
I picked up a few hand soaps.
Furthermore, this is what I did to put together a cute gift to my sons teacher for the first day!

I traced my sons hand on a piece of red paper.
Then cut it out.

I wrote this cute little note to let her know that I am available if she needs help.
A sweet gift that any teacher would love!
 Happy Back To School! =)

Avengers Bowling

I have had MANY people come to my blog by searching for Avengers ideas!
So I started thinking of a fun cheap idea for an Avengers Birthday party or just a fun craft for any old day! Here's a fun game for your Avenger lovin' kids!
All I did was drink/empty a five water bottles and take off their label.
For Hulk I bought a 2 liter bottle of Sprite because the bottle is already green!
Then I spray painted the bottles with the colors I had! For Hawkeye and Black Widow I used black, for  Ironman and Thor (because of his red cape) I used red, and for Captain America I used white. I wanted to use blue for Captain America but didn't want to go out and buy a WHOLE can of spray paint just for that! You don't have to go out and buy a bunch of different colors of spray paint... if I would choose one color it would be black or for a more vibrant game, red!
Now here is the fun part! I did most of the work for you! I drew some simple sketches of the different characters and you can just print them out below!

Avengers Hulk

Here is what ours look like colored in!
The cool thing about these print out characters is that you can use them to do MANY things. How about an Avengers scavenger hunt? Just write the clues on the back of the paper. Or you can use them as bookmarks, school is starting soon! You can also print them out for Valentines day and just tape a piece of candy to them! They are also just fun to color on a rainy day!

*I would have used this idea when I worked at PCS (Elementary school)! The kids would have loved doing this!
Here is the next step to making your Avengers bowling pins!
You need some Mod Podge, it glues and seals your character to the bottle.
Just paint it on the bottle, paint over top the paper, and let dry!

Lastly, I added a little sand/dirt to the bottles so they would stay in place a little better. You need something to weigh them down a little!
Grab any ball you have lying around the house and let your kids have some fun, AVENGERS style!
You could also decorate the ball if you want. I thought it would be cool to add the Avengers A symbol to the ball.
I blogged before about Mod Podging on a ball.

Real life Baby

Here's cute photo idea for all of those who have a Big sister and a new baby!
I should have done this a little sooner... my 6 week old is SO BIG he almost doesn't fit in my daughters baby doll stroller! =)

I wanted to add one more cute photo idea...
Do you have any clothing saved from parents as a child?
Dress up baby and have them hold photo of their parent in the same outfit!
This is my chubby 7 month old Brenden holding a photo of his daddy in the same outfit!

DIY WabbaNub

WabbaNub Pacifiers are a plush animal with a Soothie pacifier sewn to it. It is designed to give babies comfort with a soft stuffed animal friend that provides stimulation for little fingers.

I've heard many good things about these and I was about to purchase one for my son. A few reasons kept me from this! First of all, my son likes Nuk pacifiers. Secondly, I didn't like that the pacifier was permanently attached to the doll because of cleaning purposes. Thirdly, I was looking for a Tiger doll and they didn't have one! Lastly, I figured it would be easy to make with stuff I already have and save 15 bucks!

I looked around my house for a good stuffed animal that my son would like to hold and found this bear from his Grammie. It was perfect!
The next step could be done two ways. You could simply use a piece of ribbon about 5 inches long or
an old baby toy that you have laying around.

Here is what I did!
I cut the fabric off an old baby toy that already had velcro sewn to it.
My son could still play with the bottom half, I just can't velcro it on to things now!

All you have to do is hand stitch the center of your ribbon or fabric to the mouth of your stuffed animal. If you are using ribbon, it is up to you if you would like to add velcro to the ends or not.
So, now you have a stuffed animal with a piece of ribbon/fabric hanging from it's mouth.
All you have to do is velcro or tie your pacifier to the end.
When the stuffed animal or pacifier get dirty you can detach them and wash them individually!
Now your baby has something soft to hold on to while using their pacifier!
UPDATE: I had another little boy and I made a Wabbanub for him out of a little dinosaur doll he loves. You can't detach the Pacifier from the doll but he loves it!
Here is a step by step picture of how I made it.
It just took me a few minutes to make!

Di Gata Defenders- Free Printable Stones

My son saw this "new" show on Netflix called Di-Gata Defenders and immediately was into it! I don't know too much about it but the characters throw stones that draw on mystic energy and unleash it in the form of pure power. They battle kind of like Pokemon, but with stones instead of poke balls!
My son is SO into this show that he is BEGGING me to make him a costume like this main character, Seth (pictured below). I will probably be making his shirt for my son because he could just pair it with any of his black pants and he could even wear it to school! To make the costume complete, add his spy belt and all he would need are some stones!

Since I wasn't about to start making the shirt yesterday, when he was asking, I decided to help him make stones so he could play/pretend with them!
I don't know if the symbols go on the stones a certain way because I never actually watched the show. So I looked up the symbols and randomly added them to a paper box template. Here is what we came up with!
Now if your child is into this show, they can have their own stones too
AND for FREE!!!!!

Personalized Step Stool

I have had this step stool for years now and don't like the way it looks in the bathroom but the kids need it to wash their hands....
What do you do!?!
I'm so obsessed with foot and handprints right now,
So I decided to put all three of my kids footprints on the step stool to personalize it!

It's so easy to do!
First spray paint it the desired color!
Then have your kids put their footprints in a row!
I thought it was nice and simple to keep it black and white!
Don't forget to seal with Mod Podge!
You don't want those cute footprints to get scratched off or fade as the years go by!
 And there you have it!!!
A cute step stool that I can treasure for YEARS!

If you haven't checked it out...
HERE is the recent Handprint art I have done with my kids!
